History of our Practice
Hodges Eye Care & Surgical Center, formerly Grimm Eye Institute and Cataract Center, has a long tradition of providing the highest level of ophthalmic care in Pima County. Dr. Grimm retired in 2003, selling his always innovative and caring practice to Drs. Timothy and Angela Hodges. Dr. Timothy Hodges has remained committed to maintaining the level of care expected by those long-time patients of the practice and has enhanced the practice with his visions and state-of-the-art care. Dr. Cheryl Schmitt joined our practice in July 2005, and has provided quality care with a genuine friendly approach to all of our patients' visual needs. Hodges Eye Care & Surgical Center, based on our reputation of excellence in surgical and medical ophthalmic care, continues to receive referrals from numerous medical professionals and optometrists in the area. Their confidence is greatly appreciated and is not taken for granted. Quality eye care is often a team effort. We understand the high value that patients place in maintaining their vision and the major role their eye care providers play in this process. The ultimate satisfaction for us is when a patient shows their confidence by allowing us to provide their ophthalmic care for a lifetime or to operate on their eyes and achieve an excellent surgical outcome. We look forward to continuing to serve our existing family of patients and hope to meet many of you who have not been seen in our practice in the near future.
Accepted Insurances
Our office accepts most insurance plans for our ophthalmic procedures including Medicare. We will file insurance claims for all insurance plans in which we participate. For all others, we will file your claim when payment is received. Below is a list of some accepted plans, if you do not see your plan listed please call our office to see if your plan is accepted. TriCare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, University Physicians, APIPA.
